2) How old are you and how long have u been surfing?
Born 4th of 4th 1984, 23 yrs old. Surfing since+ -7yrs old.
On my first wave i ever caught I got a 3 sec barrel and did an air. What…I’m serious.
3) Where do you mainly surf?
Strand Pipe, the best wave you’ll ever find, but don’t tell anyone its a secret.
There is another spot in the same secret area that i surf a lot too but its even more secret that the one at the end of the beach by the fence, sorry can’t tell you where.
4) Where was the Best barrel of your life?
Strand Pipe of course! 2nd best probably New Pier, Bingin and Mozam secret spot. Barrels are the best thing ever but tend to end too quickly.
5) How does God influence the way you see surfing?
God wants us to enjoy His creation and invented surfing to be enjoyed, so if you not having any fun then you should not be in the water. rather go give your bad vibes to the car-guards or meter-maids.
Waves should also be enjoyed with a friend cause you can connect lekker while surfing together.
I see surfing as a blessing from God, we are super privileged to be in the water all the time, so thank Him for the Blessing surfing is in your life.
6) Heard you just got engaged! Sick! Any secrets for any groms out there about getting engaged one day…
Do it properly. Your wife is gonna have to tell that engagement story her whole life and if you didn’t give it a good go, you’ll sound like an idiot. Girls deserve to be treated like the princesses they are, so go all out. keep it top secret, someone always slips up and lets the cat out the bag. Don’t wait till you stable and going grey to get married, be reasonable but don’t be a fart.
7) So you run a Son Surf school. What is that exactly?
Thats my job. I’m a surfing coach and i own a surf school along with my friend Andy. Thats where my income comes from and what i love to do. Its a normal business but has great ties with Son Surf as a ministry but still totally business.
Whats the maddest thing you’ve ever drunk or eaten?
Tjoe not too great at eating mad things. I saw Jonty eat “Shin of cow” in Bali. I sometimes like to combine Miracle Whip, Peanut Butter and Bovril or Apricot Jam, thats rad.
9) If you couldn’t surf what would you do?
So much other stuff, like edit videos all day long, watch TV till I fall asleep, go on mxit in class, play nintendo wii and think i was cool, dye my hair black and wear skinny jeans, pimp my car with cromb, mad blue lights, ejection seats and a coffee machine. Damn…. check all this crazy cool stuff I’m missing out on…
10) What have you learnt living a life sold out for God?
God is good.If you are diligent with little God will trust you with so much more. God wants the best for you. God has a plan for me and its my choice weather i want to follow it or not.
11) Any words for the people out there?
If you keep using the same method you will get the same results, So DON’T BE FLIPPEN LAZY, if you want something go and get it. If God is for us who can be against us! Thank you Jesus!
